Privacy Policy
Last Updated: July 22, 2026
NG Play's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
1. Introduction
NG Play ("we", "us", "the App") is a cross-platform media player developed by Ngọc App. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and your rights as a user. This policy complies with applicable privacy laws, including GDPR, CCPA, and the requirements of the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
NG Play does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information. Specifically, we do NOT collect:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any identity information
- Your location or GPS data
- Device identifiers (IMEI, advertising IDs, or similar)
- Your watch history, playlists, or media file names
- Crash analytics or telemetry data sent to our servers
- Any third-party tracking or behavioral analytics
3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device
Some data is stored exclusively on your device to support app functionality. This data never leaves your device:
- App preferences and playback settings (e.g. subtitle font, playback speed)
- Cloud account credentials (OAuth tokens, FTP/WebDAV account details) — stored in encrypted local storage and never transmitted to our servers
- Recently played file paths for resume playback — stored locally, never synced
4. Google Drive & Google OAuth
NG Play integrates with Google Drive to let you stream your personal media files without downloading them. Our use of Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- We request only the minimum OAuth scope necessary: read-only access to files you explicitly select for playback
- We do NOT access, read, modify, or index your entire Google Drive
- We do NOT store, share, or transmit your Google account data to any third party
- Access tokens are stored only in local encrypted storage on your device
- You can revoke access at any time from your Google Account security settings at myaccount.google.com
5. Other Cloud Services (Dropbox, WebDAV, FTP, FTPS)
The same data minimization principles apply to all supported cloud integrations. Credentials are encrypted locally on your device. The App only connects to the specific server addresses you provide and only accesses files you actively select for playback.
6. Network Streaming
When you enter a network stream URL (HTTP, HTTPS, M3U8, HLS, DASH), the App connects directly to that URL for playback. We do not log, record, or transmit these URLs to our servers. All network streaming is a direct connection between your device and the content source.
7. Third-Party Services
NG Play does not integrate any third-party advertising SDKs, analytics platforms, or tracking libraries. The App does not display advertisements. Any third-party libraries used are solely for media decoding, codec support, or UI rendering and do not collect user data.
8. Children's Privacy
NG Play is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us immediately.
9. Data Security
Since NG Play does not collect or transmit personal data, the risk of data breach is minimal. All credentials stored locally (cloud tokens, FTP accounts) are protected using platform-standard encryption (Android Keystore, iOS Keychain, Windows DPAPI). You are responsible for the security of your device.
10. Your Rights
Since we do not collect personal data, most data subject requests (access, deletion, portability) do not apply. However, you can:
- Delete all locally stored app data by uninstalling the App
- Revoke Google Drive access via your Google Account settings
- Remove saved cloud credentials from within the App settings
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
